By impressive G1 racehorse, Tears Of Blood, twin of HoF-inductee Tears Of An Angel. He is the sire of late-peaking G1 Insouciant and lightly raced G4 Tears Of The Sun. He is a son of BHoF Cryin' Out Loud and Blood Of The Angel.
- Cryin' Out Loud is a BHoF inductee...
- Blood Of The Angel is a blue hen...
A potent mix of high energy levels and a generally nervous disposition, Inca is a flighty filly who has a tendency to jig, often sideways away from whatever has spooked her - something which is easily done. In fact, it wouldn't really be all that surprising to see her trying to run away from her own shadow. But with the right rider she can settle, as long as they are there to show her the world isn't such a scary place.
In the pasture, Inca enjoys stretching her legs and often canters around the paddock with her head held high and ears perked. Here, more than anywhere, she is calm - settled by the presence of the other horses - although it isn't such a blessing when it comes to bringing her in as she kicks up a real fuss although she has never lashed out, she just tends to try and drag her handler back to her friends and calls a lot until she is distracted by food.
Inca hates flickering lights and has been known to try and break out of the stable to escape them.

Leg Type: In Company
On race day, Inca is tacked up with blinkers, a shadow roll and ear plugs to try and help her stay calm and focused and this has proved to improve how she runs in training. That, combined with the efforts of staff familiar with her, help to ensure she does not become too wound up before a race.
She is one of the easiest horses when it comes to the starting stalls–even seeming calmer within the cramped confines of the contraption. When the gates open her start it average–resulting in her neither dropping off or shooting in front and allowing the jockey to figure out the best place for her to run. After all, Inca doesn’t run in one particular position but performs best in the more crowded parts of the field. She doesn’t even seem that bothered by the bumps that often happen in these busy areas and is able to run without worry.
It is in the final stretch that Inca really shines. Not disturbed by the roar of the crowd, or distracted by the movement around her, she is able to really focus on what the jockey asks of her–surging forward when asked and really stretching out and engaging her full power and stamina as she makes for the post.
